The outreach mobile clinic project is aiming to run a sustainable, scalable primary health care (PHC) services among poor, disadvantaged population in rural areas in Kassala state, East Sudan. The project composed of one mobile team serving five centers surrounded by a satellite of villages. The project team is moving between the hub in Kassala city and each of these centers every day in rotational manner. The package of service being provided includes; doctor consultation, lab services, free drugs, antenatal (ANC) services and health education. The service delivery will be accompanied by a research program to generate evidence that helps in improving the service and assessing the impact of the model on changing the health and wellbeing of targeted communities. To ensure sustainability of the project community participation and engagement of health insurance as buyer for the services provided are considered as important pillars.
