SALI research activities are managed by the research office, which is composed of a research coordinator and assistants. The research office is under direct supervision of SALI general director and the SALI Research Committee; the latter is composed of consultants from many academic institutes, local and international.
SALI Research Office ( SRO)
The Research office is composed of a research coordinator and assistants. The research office is under direct supervision of SALI general director and the SALI Research Committee. SRO manages the research activities on daily basis by doing the following: has specific objective and known duties and responsibilities as follows:
• Developing research plans and budgets
• Establishing and managing research projects and teams
• Leading report and paper development and publication
• Management of health staff participation in research and training
• Coordinate and manage meetings of the research teams
• Responsible for the data collected for research and overseeing its storage within the central Sali unit
• To track the milestones of the research projects implemented
• Research program reporting
SALI Research Committee (SRC)
SRC is composed, by SALI Director, of consultants from many academic institutes, local and international. Its main duty is the overall supervision and leadership of research activities. Detailed responsibilities include the following:
- Establishment of research management capability and processes
- Establishment and management of academic, research and training partner networks – including MoU and contracts
- Review and approve project management plans from a research perspective
- Ongoing performance assessment and management of the research component of projects
- To participate in planning and designing of the research and training components of the project proposals
- To communicate with the potential research and training partners (research institutes, training centers and universities)
- To participate in/ or coordinate with research committees, IRBs and ethical approval committees
